Any bird hunters?

A buddy of mine and I like to travel down to the Riddle, OR area and head after grouse. We've done this for a few years now and though the drive is long, it is a great time of conversation reflecting on our days of youth. (both of us vets) Anyway, who here are our bird hunters and what's your favorite feather gitter? Mine is my little H&R Topper 158 in 20ga.

Beretta S56E, 12ga, straight stock. Grouse are everywhere in the National Forests. Riddle seems a long way to go just for birds. Eastern Oregon for chukar, quail, blues and forest grouse.

Riddle seems a long way to go just for birds

We don't go just for the birds! We have been good friends for many years and the drive gives us time for hanging out and conversation. Plus, like I stated, both of us being Vets we reflect on some of the stupid things we did when we were young!

I used to hunt birds often. Couldn't wait for the grouse opener in August back in the day, and soon after, doves.

Time marches on, and most of my bird hunting is behind me. But I was blessed to have a good run, and blessed that I have such great memories.

Most of my bird hunting was with an 870 variant. I owned quite a few, and I still profess the 870 to be the worlds all-time best shotgun.
