Well, for the last couple of years I have been buying lots of guns. Usually if it’s something that I want that is a smoking hot deal on sale or gently used. Unlike most of the handgun purchases I have made in the last couple of years, I did set out to buy one specific rifle and one specific shotgun.
I waited and planned and “pounced” when I got something of a deal. Both of them came from Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops.
I had got a CZ over/under shotgun with a nice case and five chokes in 12 gauge with a 3 inch chamber, 28 inch barrels and walnut furniture for around $550.00 on sale and with my Veterans Discount added to the sale price. I thought it was a good deal. They are usually around $700. It was a Cabela’s exclusive model, basically a CZ Redhead.
Also, I purchased a Colt AR15 A4 from them on sale with my discount added to it for just under $1050.00. These are usually around the $1200.00 mark. $1140 to $1299 depending on where you buy. I prefer to buy from an actual store like Bass Pro as even if they don’t have it in stock, it can be shipped to the store and I get a discount and don’t have to pay for a transfer…just the background check.
I have kind of been sitting for awhile, buying parts for guns and parts for builds, buying used parts here and there…..but no actual guns. Now I have found something totally cool that I want. It’s about $1250 and I will have to pay shipping and pay for a transfer in addition to the background check. Check this out…..
This is a really good replica of the M-16 A1’s that we shot in the Air Force when I was in, back in the 1980’s. We got the leftovers from Vietnam that the other branches used while the Army and Marines got the new M4’s and such. These are like what we had. No forward assist. 1 in 12 twist. It will be as much of a nostalgia trip for me as my Sigmas are.
