Sometimes you just don't want to go to something. I've perfected the "truck's acting up, gotta deal with it" excuse. It works every time because it's always somewhat true. What's your go-to excuse that people actually believe? Keep it real, we all do this sometimes.

Honesty. If I say I'll be there, I will.

Lie to me once, and that's the last time I'll ever trust you.

If for whatever reason I just don't want to be there, I will ask permission if I can miss this event. It will be legitimate.

Due to my health, I can’t really make plans. But if I say I am going to be somewhere, I will be, even if I am sick. I will have my wife drive me, which is how half of my VA appointments go.

If I say I'll be there, come hell or high water I will. I'm not about to lie to you, but if I tell you that I've had a 'wardrobe malfunction' you may want to reschedule.
