What Should I Avoid Wearing at the Range?

I've been curious about what everyone throws on when heading to the range. Not talking full-on gear setups — just regular clothes.

I've been out a few times recently and started paying more attention to what folks are wearing. One thing I noticed: camo kind of sticks out in a weird way. It feels a little over-the-top for just basic drills or a few mags through the rifle. No hate on camo — wear what you want — but it got me thinking.

I've been leaning toward neutral stuff: jeans, a plain shirt, decent boots. You know, something that's comfortable and safe (no sandals, obviously) but also doesn't scream "tacticool." It just feels more natural, I guess.

Anyone else feel that way? Or am I just overthinking how we should dress for a day at the range?

I think you are over thinking it. Don't be a fashionista.

Wear safe clothing along with a cap, glasses, and hearing protection. Closed toe shoes, and if you wear a button down shirt, make sure it is buttoned up. Nobody wants to see your chest hair and gold medallion.

Besides, the brass is less likely to land down your shirt if you're buttoned up. V necks are best avoided. Also don't wear T-shirts with inflammatory or offensive messaging on them. Remember, you aren't he only guy with a gun out there.

I have a tac vest that I use sometimes because it has so many mag pockets on it. It may come in handy now that my range has changed its rules. They don't want range bags on the firing line because they have a new policy of one gun at a time on the firing line.
