What optics do you recommend for different distances?

I keep seeing scopes that look great in the store but stop working after even just a little normal use. Which optics have stayed clear and accurate for you at different ranges?

Well, this is subjective and an often debated however under normal shooting circumstances it's best to stay with known, name brands IE Leopold, Bushnell, even Tasco has improved over the years with good reviews. One of my scopes is an over 40 year old Leupold that is as clear as a bell!

Vortex came on later 'in life' but seems to have a pretty good 'following' and reviews.

MY observation is a LOT of people buy more 'scope than they need' and in some cases spend more for it than the rifle it is for.

Above all it is VERY important that YOU are comfortable with the design of the reticle, and can see it well and clear. Always see if a retailer has a 'demo stock' to try a scope out and try to look through it outside where the light is natural.

For close-range shooting, Aimpoint or EOTech are good choices. If you're shooting at longer distances, Vortex Viper PST or Nightforce are the way to go.
