What happens to a budget pistol after 5,000 rounds

I bought it specifically to run hard without caring about it. At 5,000 rounds, the finish is worn on the rails, one magazine spring has been replaced and the trigger pull has actually improved slightly with wear. It runs. It's not pretty but I trust it. That's a successful test.

Uh, what brand, model and caliber is THIS gun?

Finish ISN'T going to last on the rails of ANY semi auto pistol. Replacing a mag spring is not unusual as well, depending on the brand of the mag.

Trigger pull CAN improve with use but it is always a good idea to polish, remove burs, metal flashing etc. off all internal parts (especially trigger parts) BEFORE shooting the gun much to ensure smooth and proper operation.

Budget guns will keep going strong, as long as you keep feeding them. My Canik, for instance has about six thousand rounds through it and still locks back every single time. It might not be the prettiest thing but it’s certainly faithful.
