I always have an emergency blanket, multitool, a spare hat, water, snacks and a first aid kit. I add stuff depending on the season but those basics have saved me a bunch. what do you keep in your ride?

Tool box: V-link chains and spring tensioners for each wheel, one each of a 20' poly strap and 20' 5/16" log chain, a blacksmith's hammer, a 4' pry bar, a few 3/8 clevis', tarp and depending on the season the 14" saw, gas, oil scrench and file.

Inside: flares, short step ladder, set of ratchet straps, extra coat, gloves, the world's ugliest bibs, jar of peanuts, a five pack of cheap cigars, a bottle of water, backup meds.

Good water bottles, Quality first aid kit, multitool, rain gear under the seat, warm blanket behind it... yup, got those too, just in case. Most people I know also toss in jumper cables and extra socks. Cold, wet feet can ruin your day so easily. and it turns out, the stuff you think you'll never need always saves your butt somehow...so I keep it simple but reliable.

I quit carrying jumper cables. For many years I have carried a MicroStart. I actually jumped my neighbors diesel when it wouldn’t crank. Charge lasts at least 6 months at a time and you can plug it in to the wall or the car. Will power other stuff as it comes with many adapters.
Of course I carry all the other survival stuff too including some quick clot and energy bars.
