This is way more complicated than YouTube made it look. i spent all weekend making like 50 rounds of .308 and I'm still not sure I did it right. I haven't shot them yet because I'm lowkey scared. For everyone who reloads, was your first batch sketchy or am I just paranoid?

Welcome to the forum.

Take it slowly, don't rush, and you will achieve a rhythm.

You don't have to do all the steps at once.
A night of case prep. Another night of loading.

Do it correctly, and it will still take some time.

You've got to love the reloading process, or you've gotta love making perfect ammo. The monetary savings doesn't necessarily justify the time involved. But I was meticulous.

Take your time and go down the checklist. Measure everything twice, seat bullets carefully, and check every single round. As long as the measurements and powder weights are right, you're good to go.

My first batch sat in a box way longer than I'd like to admit. But I went back and double-checked the data, and I even had someone who knew what they were doing take a look. That's what finally gave me the guts to use it..

I had a mentor(dad) that eased me into it. As long as you have the right powder and charge weight with the correct bullet, you should be good to go.
Go Shoot em!
The sizing, primers, bullet seating depth are all factors that effect how accurate the load will be among other things.
Welcome to reloading!

My first reloads were in 1969. They were for a Ruger 44 magnum revolver. I was 19 years old. I was reloading light loads with powder that was
not very powerful. They were so much more fun to shoot. Learned all I knew from books and a guy behind the gun counter. I have reloaded thousand of rounds of many different calibers for pistols and rifles over the years. Have never had a problem with any of my reloads, but have had several problems with a few factory loads in all that time. If the shells are to the specifications in the book with the correct amount of powder they should work fine. So many videos on line these days with all kinds of help available for answers to questions.

What exactly are you scared of?

IF you did everything correct and according to a manual you shouldn't be scared - and Yes I said MANUAL and I hope you used one because you mentioned Youtube and I HOPE you didn't use it for instructional information.

If you are unsure of your rounds in any way you should consider pulling them and starting over - and use a MANUAL.

In all fairness there are a couple very good YT loading channels however MOST I have seen are nothing more than Clem Earl and Lew Bob relodin' in the Gee-roge and while they might be doing things correctly most of them are simply showing THEIR ways and system of doing things as opposed to being 'instructional'.

What specifically is the load you used ? IE powder, charge weight & bullets.

I hope you followed the reloading manual for the recipe.
If you did, you are go to go. If not refer to post #7.
