OA-GM9B - Old Army 9mm Black 1911 Pistol $449.99!

Who is it 'their' pistols that are 'over $2500'?

Looking into it, it appears as though they are made by BALIKLI another Turkish mfg and I don't see any of their guns 'over $2500'.
Well yes, that's why I'm asking. When I Google either the model number, or old Army I get something like this. Yes I'm under no illusion about this single stack 1911 being in the same league as a this double stack 2311 but it appears it may be the same company... or not.

Who really needs a ported 9mm when you have a five inch barrel? Now you can’t shoot the cheaper plated ammo out of your 450 dollar cheap gun. And the adjustable rear is a no go for me, were I to want to carry it.

If you wan’t a nice quality, less expensive 1911, check out TriStar. The are actually blued, or if you want, they come in chrome as well. I almost bought one of their Commander’s for about 100 bucks more, then I found a Kimber for less money and discount on top of the sale price.

I missed the part about it being ported!

Yea, kinda unnecessary in a 1911 - especially a 9mm.

Personally I prefer adjustable sights but a LOT depends on the quality of the sight, the design of the blade and how well it interacts with the front blade. I wish my RIA would have came with adjustable rear but the fixed Novak style rear is pretty good. Windage was spot on but it shot several inches low so I filed the front to bring the POI up and 'dotted' the front to match the rear - which was already dotted.

Personally I prefer 'plain' guns as opposed to unnecessary stampings on the slide such as on the one shown in the Bi Mart link.

The OA in this model number refers to its previous name 'Olympic Arms' it appears. Still looks like a deal, but I can't find out if 'Quad Ported' refers to the barrel too, or just the ports I can faintly see on the slide.

Yeah, that gun looks kinda Alphabet Soup.

How about this one? Try not to throw up in your throat!

I will admit that I'm building a couple of guns that I've sent parts out to be custom cerakoted, but nothing like that! I embarrassingly sat a pistol down, and proceeded to loose it resulting in an almost 2 week search of my boat - only to find it right where I sat it on the table next to my chair. It was only when I took my gozillian power handheld spotlight and lit it up brightly enough for me to see my all black LCP on a dark teak table. Getting old sucks. I kinda like some of the cerakote colors, Fools Gold is a warm FDE with a satin light metal flake on close inspection AND it's 5 shades lighter than dark teak :)

What does that say by the grip? It looks like something a spandex clad biker would wear to a pride parade.
LOL ! I was wondering that myself!

Bottom line ? One of the STUPIDEST things (in the gun world) I have ever seen - BUT I see MANY other stupid things as well as a LOT of the idiotic 'tactical/cool' crap I CANNOT believe anyone would own - but hey, do what you want!

There's a lot to be said for having something too ugly for someone to steal. I had a contractor that painted all of his tools pink and nobody ever stole them.

A pink gun or rainbow finished gun is good to carry because if someone makes the false allegation that you pointed a gun at them they are usually going to say it was black. When you show the officer your Charter Arms Pink Lady, he may bust them for making a false report.
