Last week I bought a parts lot from a guy in the classifieds on another forum. The lot was 60 dollars plus another 17 shipped. It looked to be junk mostly but there was a grip, 2 sets of hand guards, 2 good stocks and 3 buffer tubes and a buffer and spring. I bought the lot mainly to give the buffer components and hand guards to my son for one of his builds.

There was also 3 optics. I figured they would all be garbage Temu optics. No biggie, as I don’t use dot sights. Well, my son who just got out of the Army looked at two of them and said that they were real, military contract optics, albeit very old. One was an Aimpoint with a proprietary mount and the other was an EO Tech. And they both work, although the Aimpoint needs a knurled knob for the mount and adjustment dial caps we’re missing.

My son has used both of these models in the Army. Well, I kept the EO Tech and put the other one, which goes for 1K new on my other son’s build that is almost complete.

There was also a sear, a safety selector, and some flash suppressors in there. As well as two stocks that are missing their adjustment mechanisms. All in all a great deal. The third optic in there was a 3x magnifier on a vortex mount. That looks brand new.

Those moments stick with you. Digging a genuine EO Tech out of a pile of junk kind of feels like hitting the jackpot on a scratch-off.

There was also an aimpoint and a Vortex magnifier, one functional stock too. For 77 bucks shipped I definitely hit the jackpot. A lot of junk in that pile though.

Well, the EO Tech worked for a little bit, and then it wouldn’t stay Zeroed. So off to the trash with it. The Aimpoint worked though. So, I guess two out of three ain’t bad.
