I told myself I wouldn't buy more guns until I got a bigger safe. That was six months ago, now I'm playing Tetris trying to fit everything in there. When does it end? Does anyone actually stop buying or do you just keep getting bigger safes?

Well, we shall see how things go after March. I will likely just quit buying. At least until the day that my son, wife and I can buy a little ranch in Idaho.

We will have two houses here in Oregon that we will rent out, save half the money for maintenance, and use the other half as income. And then use our combined income for the ranch. When my wife and I die, my son will have control of the trust and he can do whatever he wants, but will probably use it to set up his kids when he has them. He is only 30.

I have two safes. One is filled with ammo with one shelf having a pistol rack and the rest of the guns are in a dedicated fire safe.

I have spent so much money buying guns that I need or want trying to beat the deadline for the permit garbage to come. After March I am taking a break, perhaps a long one.

I have a big Fort Knox aka 2000. The Dalles area. Lots of long guns or half that and shelves. You could polish it but the finish is spackled. It's heavy++. I have the appropriate loader but it is heavy requiring a few folk. Manual combo only and it is touchy - you hit the number exactly or you don't get in.

To someone who needs a real safe. Only real people need apply.

Isn’t that the one they buried Chuck Yeager in?

After replacing my "big" safe twice, I just started buying smaller safes for parts and ammo. Then one for reloading supplies. Then I retired and started selling guns, but the space in my big safe just seems to stay the same.

You guys are amatures! I have the 38 gun safe in reloading room, a 6ft. high 24 gun safe in office room along with smaller 15 gun safe. Another 15 gun safe in my closet and another the wife has for her guns in the spare bedroom. Keep in mind the "advertised" space in these smaller safes usually won't hold what is said. BiMart has s good sales on the smaller safes.

Well, I started with two guns about 2 years ago. I have bought about 60 and have 50 in the safe now. It’s time for a bigger safe, as the keypad went to poop.

Maybe this is a good place and time. I have a ft knox big combinatibyon safe It holds a lot of toys I have a big loader that can move it. Prime condition. It's heavy. Klickitat county

So does the weight of a gun safe have anything to do with quality?

Oh yeah, quote fire rise, etc. But weight? Maybe it's just a bunch of sheet rock layered inside? That'll gain you a few pounds. The steel thickness. The alloy. Some have resistance to direct flame. The lock?

I get the impression that some of y'all think a steel box is just a box. Nothing will ever happen anyway because you've got the mini gun pointed out the living room window because you are ready for the invaders. That box gets in the way.

Others have some absolutely beautiful, unreplaceable arms.

Well, I was asking about weight trying to figure out the heck I could move the thing.

Man, if I could come up with a way to transport that and get it into my house, I would do it. Your price in your PM is awesome. That is a REAL safe. And, it’s in great condition. No keypad to ever fail too.

I've got 5 safes spread between the boat, my cabin, and my son's house. About a year ago I started with these drawer safes (I've got 3) which I've built into counters, and a wall
