Everything feels close on the ground, sounds are louder and I can't see past the bushes. I like being up high but sometimes I have to hunt on the ground. How do you stay calm doing that?

I stick to slow, deliberate movements and focus on breathing, it makes the bushes feel less like a horror movie

I guess I don't really understand your question.

What are you 'paranoid' of specifically? Does being on the ground and hearing noises scare you or cause agitation? What are these 'sounds' you are hearing that sound 'louder? Is this an issue in normal day to to day activities when walking anywhere?

Personally I am perfectly 'calm' on the ground when hunting or doing anything in the woods but then I have essentially grown up with the outdoors as a 'way of life' so to speak, and I have no concerns or fears about anything while in the outdoors.

and I can't see past the bushes.
Where do you hunt that is so dense you 'can't see past the bushes' ?

Maybe concentrate on finding less dense, more open areas to hunt.

By realizing I'm the apex predator armed with at least one firearm.

When ground hunting I move slowly concentrating on the forest noises and being quiet myself. I am trying to tune in to any movement around me which will be the giveaway to animals. These shot opportunities tend to be short range.
