I regret selling my Pre Ban SW40F pistol.it was my first proper handgun. I had a Junkyard Makarov that I traded in on it. I don’t miss the Makarov.
The thing that S&W got right, that Glock later followed them on, was to leave a little space between the polymer frame and the bottom of the slide.
I have had early Glocks that the polymer would swell on after a mag dump or two, and lock the slide out of battery. You then had to wait for it to cool down or run it under cold water to get it back into battery.
Also the original Glock mags that had no steel liner, would swell and wouldn’t drop free of the gun. Much in the same was as a a P35 with the magazine safety. The Sigma’s steel mags made sure that didn’t happen.
