I guess its time to settle this

What does this community actually drive and why? No judgment here, I am just curious what people trust when they're 40 miles from pavement...make your case in the comments.

(Chevy, Ford, Toyota, Dodge, or something else?)

I drive a Toyota 4Runner because it can handle mud or rocks with no problem. Looks don't matter as much when your vehicle can actually get you home.

It probably doesn't really matter. Brand loyalty is very much territorial. I wouldn't own a GMC product, but when I'm in Twin Falls Idaho, that's about all I see.

Personally, I've driven a Dodge for many years. Prior to that, I drove mostly Fords. I could be comfortable with either brand.

Not 40 but more like 3 miles every time we go somewhere. And 2.5 are a rough two track, steep, ancient logging trail with switch backs. The trail is made up of boulders and stone that were pressed into the canyon side many years ago by logging equipment. The wife drives a F250 and for me a F350. It is 4WD all year round. Not just to avoid spinning but because, well you know, locking it in tightens everything up. Even at 5-10mph. Both rigs carry v-link chains for the rears and fronts. We rely on the heavier axles and suspensions for longevity because of loads hauled regularly.

Like Wayno I could do a Ram but the wife is rather opinionated, I'd never hear the end of it and she wouldn't get in it if she had too.
