I got a pistol I bought years ago that just sits in the safe. I've shot it maybe three times, I could sell it and put the money toward something I'd actually use. But also what if I regret it? Do you guys keep everything or sell stuff you don't use?

Unless there's a special connection or it's rare, it's just a gun. If you really don't want it, sell it. If you decide later you miss it, go buy one again. I know this from way too much experience.

I only sell if it’s a gun that I absolutely hate. Since I got back into shooting a year and a half ago, I’ve only sold one gun. It was a Kimber Micro 9. Man, I hated that thing.

@Alan what is the pistol you are referring to. And, are you in Oregon or Washington?

Been retired for 5 years now. I have sold maybe 5-6 guns now that I have never fired. One was used the others were all new. So when you say the gun was never fired they pay little attention because they likely don't believe you.
Is it difficult to sell a gun in Oregon now? I have sold the last three online. Is that still legal in Oregon?
My daughter lives in Arizona, would it be possible to give her some of my guns to sell in Arizona? Can they be legally shipped to her?

Ditto this!

If after a fair amount of shooting a gun if I find I really don't care for it, don't plan on carrying it, or doing much of anything with it then I agree and have done the same thing - IE sold or traded it for something else I believe I WOULD like better.

Now I HAVE sold/traded a few guns I later regretted but that's a different scenario....

I think a fire arm is like some other 'metal' of various types. Even if it's worn like an old coin, and is not a collectable, it still has inherent value to someone.

So are you overwhelmed or are you playing the market? At a given time even an old blunderbuss has value. Maybe a lot.
