Oregon gun laws?

I have recently sold several guns through the internet. I am hoping Oregon strict gun laws will not stop that. But how about selling to other people in Oregon?
I know I can still sell or give guns to my family, and hope that is not changing. Many years ago I married a girl who was very controlling and eventually got me to stop reloading and then sell most of my guns. After she left and my kids were grown and gone, she left the kids with me to raise, I went on a gun buying spree. I reload nearly every handgun caliber and many rifle calibers. I'm retired now and slowed down on reloading and shooting and I'm considering selling some of my guns.

But how about selling to other people in Oregon?
Well, of course selling to 'other people' in Oregon requires the transfer through an FFL but IF 114 becomes reality this will dramatically change things for EVERYBODY due to the 'permit to purchase' part of it - which is essentially the MAIN aspect of it.

Personally however It is MY believe 114 will be 'overturned' by he Supreme Court (at least the permit to purchase part of it)

I don't believe the proponents of 114 saw all the other negative 'side effects' it WILL cause and probably realized this 'after the fact' and are looking (hoping) for a way out. Kotex no doubt saw this as well and therefore 243 was created as a 'fail safe' IF 114 is overturned.

SO, to 'save face' the 'system' has to go through the motions, play the game and ultimately IF (big IF) it gets overruled then they can say 'well, we tried' and they quietly back out and let it go.

The 'several guns' you recently sold through the internet were those sold locally in Oregon or other areas?

It's why we have got to get rid of the super majority. Super majorities are just not fair. I don't suppose they will ever be controlled, but it would be nice if they could be.
We also have to get rid of mail in voting. I like the idea that it becomes nation wide law. When mail in voting started it appeared so nice. But it has got to be stopped.
Extremist just should not be making laws. It rarely does more than drag things through the courts and eventually their only win is to cause trouble. And if you have a more fair balance in the government, things can be fairly discussed and done with balance. And not pushed by one agenda.

This could happen if we could get the neck bearded, mouth breathing rah rah flag waivers who CLAIM to be conservative. pro 2A etc. TO vote - but do NOT.

The numbers are staggering actually. Democrats FAR outnumber republicans (or those who claim to be) with regard to being registered to vote.

Oregon has approx 990,000 REGISTERED Democrats and 729,189 Republicans. It also has approx. 1,116,332 'Unaffiliated' (non registered) residents.

If only HALF of them (or less) were conservative Republicans AND registered to vote (and did) we would outnumber Democrats!

I always though "unaffiliated" meant registered to vote as other than republican or democrat. But yes, no matter who they are they need to be registered and vote. I have heard the theory that many of the republicans that do not vote are Christians that think anyone they vote for has to be a "perfect" Christian or they cannot vote for that person. Not sure that is correct to any great extent.

We have to find a way to get to these people to vote. I understand apathy, I just don't understand how bad do things have to get before they think they need to vote to change things for the better. And I am very afraid that it is difficult to prevent the vote from being split. They need to vote responsibly, and thinking we can beat the democrats by refusing to vote for a candidate with things they are not 100% in agreement with is just crazy.

Some are worried about Drazan, saying she has faults that make her a bad candidate. So the only way we can proceed is wait until one candidate is the winner of the primary and put all our support behind them no matter what.

Well, for many years I was a registered Democrat. It was kind of expected, being in healthcare. But I have always been a two issue voter. 2A and taxes ( and things that affect my wallet basically). But what has happened to the party with all the idiocy made me finally change to independent.

Being registered as a Dem always got me insider info on things so I knew what to vote against, at least as far as things concerning health policy. But, they also send you info on what is coming down the pike, who the candidates are going to be locally, etc. whilst hitting you up for donations. How do you think Trump won? A lot of Dems turned on their own party because they had enough.

Frankly, I don’t drink the kool aid on either side.

Well, this may be but if it is the case then they are just as narrow minded as the ones I AM referring to but lets keep religion out of this as it has NO place in politics - or the 2A.

My experience is (with a lot of non voters) is gun rights are NOT a priority with their 'list' of reasons NOT to vote.

Oh, they may claim to be conservative, pro 2A etc. but the reality is guns are NOT much of a consideration with them.

Many are so reclusive, or out of the mainstream and guns are not a big priority in their lives. Sure, they may own a few, and see them as a 'last resort' but thats about it.

MANY of them have 'other' reasons for not voting - and some are pretty bizarre....

A LOT of these types are not 'mainstream', don't live in the 'real world' and voting is hardly a consideration for them.

They are self proclaimed 'preppers' , don't work, think SHTF is just around the corner and live very reclusive lives.

Trust me - I know MANY like this and do my best to keep my opinions to myself....
