How do I know if a tick bite is serious?

I went hiking last weekend and found a tick on my leg afterward. Now I'm worried about Lyme disease. What should I watch for?

A tick bite may be serious if you experience symptoms such as a rash, flu-like symptoms, or persistent redness and swelling around the bite area. If you see a rash like appearance after about 3 days after the bite, it could be a sign of Lyme disease.

Did you actually get bit? If so, you've gotta make sure you got all the parts removed completely. Nowdays... If there's any chance a tick gets hold, watch it carefully for any inflamation or incomplete healing, and if there's any question at all, see the daktari.
