Anyone practice home defense scenarios at home?

I plan to run some dry fire drills at home to practice my response if someone breaks in, just basic stuff like moving through hallways and clearing corners safely, are there any good drills or tips you'd recommend for realistic training?

My neighbor's an ex-cop who does this stuff. He always says start slow, practice your draw until it's muscle memory, then work on moving with the gun close to your chest, not extended. Pie corners gradually, don't rush it

That's good advice from your neighbor...do you think it's worth investing in some training targets or dummy rounds for the drills, or should I just focus on the movement and draw mechanics first?

Start slow...and master the draw and movement until they are habit. Then add snap caps and cheap targets, use a flashlight and safe backstop. Take one lesson from a pro and you’ll cut years off the learning curve

I appreciate that, I’ve been focusing on smooth movement and accuracy first, but adding snap caps and a flashlight sounds like a good next step
