Back in late August, a gent on one of the other forums I frequent, sold me a pair of Ruger P85 pistols. One was new in box and the other had seen some use, but it was in really good shape. I loved them so much that I decided to keep my eyes open for other Ruger P series pistols. The pair was $650. Both were complete with the original factory mags, and two extra used mags. So I got 4 mags for each pistol.
He also sold me a couple of extras. Total for everything, and him driving to my town from 200 miles away was 700 dollars. He delivered them to an FFL that was 5 minutes from my house. His daughter lives in my town (Springfield) and was coming up anyway.
Here’s the Pistols I got a month ago. Both were complete with original mags, manual, loader, and box.
Then, a few days ago, he had another couple of pistols for sale. He had an NIB Ruger P345D. I had been wanting one of these since they came out sometime in the 2000’s. Well, I had been looking for an NIB one, and found one on GB. It was $850, and not even on an auction. The one that I bought from the forum member was less than half of that. And it’s perfect.
The P94DC is what the seller said was the rarest of the old P series that he has, and he has a lot of Rugers. This gun wasn’t made for very long he said.
I am just excited to have a 40 cal back in the fold. My first pistol was an SW 40F, way back in the day. It never fit my hand well and neither did the 40 cal Glock when I tried it. But that was before they started with the interchangeable back straps. But now I don’t need to worry about that because this gun fit’s my hand perfectly. It’s the same size as my P85’s. Here’s some pics of the 94DC and the 345D.
So i am happy all around. It was a good day.
